Ana studied Art History at the Iberoamericana University in Mexico City. During that time she worked for the magazine Artes Visuales published by the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City. She also attended the Institute of Interpreters and Translators and the Institute of Applied Philosophy.
Ana moved to the U.S. to further her studies, and started freelancing as a translator. She has translated movies, television, radio, educational programs and technical materials. From this and her experience working in Operettas and Spanish musical plays called Zarzuelas arose the opportunity to perform in radio commercials and as a voiceover actress for movies and television, doing the lead female character’s voice in such TV series as American Gothic, Who’s the Boss, The New Untouchables, Dream On, The Larry Sanders Show and Alfred Hitchcock Presents, as well as in several animated series, such as Magic Knights and Disney's Quack Pack (voice of Donald's nephew Dewey).
As a voiceover artist, Ana is currently dubbing the voice of one of the Desperate Housewives, Bree VanDekamp, and of Danielle Rousseau in the hit TV series Lost. Ana has dubbed Ingrid Bergman's voice in Spanish in the classic movie For Whom the Bell Tolls, Kim Novak's voice in Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo, Jessica Lange's voice in Rob Roy, Jessica Walter's in Play Misty For Me, Meryl Streep's in Before and After, Linda Hamilton's in Separate Lives, Lindsay Wagner's in Second Chance and provided the voice of Agent Scully in Spanish for the worldwide promotion of The X-Files.
Ana has participated as voice talent in numerous other films such as Forrest Gump, Jerry MacGuire, Under the Tuscan Sun, Calendar Girls, The Indian in the Cupboard, Madame X, Sister Act, Rambo 3, Indictment, The Mighty Ducks, The House of the Spirits, A Woman Undone, Marathon, No Contest, Love is a Gun, Time Cop, Resurrection, Buddy, Fly Away Home, Air Bud and many others, and has also been part of the cast that provides Spanish voices for the long-running soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful.
Both for subtitles and for voice dubbing. Ana has translated many TV series and programs, such as The X-Files, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, The Simpsons, Dangerous Minds, Skate International Championships and Bear in the Big Blue House, and over 500 feature films, including The Bourne Identity, The Sum of All Fears, Shanghai Knights, Catch that Kid, Dirty Pretty Things, Kangaroo Jack, Autofocus, The Hunted, Scooby Doo, The Deep End, Shanghai Knights, K-19 The Widowmaker, In Dreams, Unbreakable, All the Pretty Horses, The World Is Not Enough, GoldenEye, Diamonds Are Forever, Pal Joey, Gilda, U-571, The Edge, Stigmata, American Werewolf in Paris, Rumble Fish, Tom and Huck, The Craft, Hard Rain, Hush, The Wedding Singer, Dance With Me, Boogie Nights, X-Files: Fight The Future, The Invisible Man, Fantastic Voyage, Naked Gun, Vegas Vacation, Somewhere In Time, Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, Air Bud: Golden Receiver, Species 2, Central Station, Tim Burton’s Planet of the Apes and many more.
Ana also provided the voice in Spanish for the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, for Continental Airlines’ in-flight video presentations, Coca-Cola, Rexaire, Amway and Mary Kay training films and the Wild California film, as well as for several Intel products, such as their video-phones promotion and the demo card for Intel Express, the CD ROM Disney's Interactive Magic Artist and Dreamworks Tresspasser Game and the vehicle navigation systems Magellan and Hertz NeverLost, Bank of America, Ford, GM, Jafra, Herbalife and United Way.
She has also directed radio commercials, translated songs and directed and supervised voiceovers, song recordings and TV commercials in Spanish.
As part of her work in the field of applied philosophy, Ana translated nine drug rehabilitation courses and the booklet 10 Things Your Friends May Not Know About Drugs for an international drug rehabilitation organization called Narconon, which are now available for the Spanish speaking public and being used with great success in the U.S., Spain, Mexico and other countries in Latin America.
